Barr: adj., a person or an object that is very awkward or unusual in their current state or environment; a state of existence in which a person seems incapable of blending in conspicuously or acting in such a way so as to appear normal; existing in a perpetual state of being "lame"

[quote]Warren knows better then that. And if she doesn't she is more ignorant than I would have credited. She is playing to the gallery, not serious policy and legislation.
Well, the states that just passed complete abortion bans are also not allowed to do that, because those laws are unconstitutional based on Roe vs Wade... in which the Supreme Court determined that states may not place limitations of abortion during the first trimester.
The fact that itโs unconstitutional didnโt stop those deplorable states one bit.
So if Elizabeth Warren wants to encourage Congress to pass a law of questionable constitutionality to get rid of Trump, she should go right ahead.

If Mueller knew he couldn't indict a sitting president, I think he should have made that statement early in his investigation. It's not something he discovered as time progressed. He accepted the role of SC with the full understanding of what the DOJ policy was. Also, I think it would have been helpful for the country to understand EXACTLY what his scope was. The collusion scope was very narrow in that it was restricted to Russian GOVERNMENTAL agencies. Trump and family colluded with a whole lot of Russians but most of them were part of Putin's informal spy network and SHADOW government made up of oligarchs et al like Marina Butina. For two years everyone thought Mueller was looking at the totality of Trump's corruption when in fact he was looking at a very narrow scope. What happened to the investigation into the rest? Also, it didn't help that Manafort lied and covered up for Trump. There is still a whole lot out there that we don't know about. Was interesting last night that Rep. Mike Quigley - a member of the House Intelligence Committee flat out said on Rachel Maddow that he thought Trump was compromised by the Russians. That's a pretty blatant statement to make. He's seen a lot of top secret information.

R6, you sound concerned.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | May 31, 2019 8:45 PM |
The Flynn voicemail is a message to Flynn's lawyer from Trump's personal/criminal attorney John Dowd, where he threatens Flynn for cooperating with Mueller. Dowd basically says let us know what youโve told Mueller (or are planning to tell), or risk losing your chance for a pardon. Itโs the same message quoted in the Mueller report.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | May 31, 2019 9:31 PM |
So is that obstruction of justice, or are they going to argue itโs โnot a threatโ because typically criminals donโt get pardons anyway?
I want to know how theyโre going to spin this so itโs fine.
CNN is reporting now that Trump is worried about impeachment.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | May 31, 2019 9:37 PM |
I am glad so many of you are shutting down the anti-Nancy concern posts.
The MEDIA needs to put the pressure on McConnell and the GOP Senate about the election security. Nonstop. Relentless. It is the only way. And yes, we must win the Senate by at least 2 seats with a Dem VP.
Also, we aren't hearing enough from the "moderate" GOP Senators like Collins and Murkowski. Who knows what the fuck Romney is. He is Senate Goo. He is there but does nothing and conforms to whatever container he is in. It worries me the more "moderate" GOPers don't go Amash on this situation.
If we don't have them on our sides, and Amash is not a moderate, then the media must do a hatchet job on them because our democracy is at stake and the media would not be lying if they did a hatchet job on them.
If Barr is the new Roy Cohn, should he meet the same fate?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | May 31, 2019 9:39 PM |
Pres Bone Spurs is not worried about impeachment. I believe he wants it. He needs new material for round 2 on the campaign trail and he is great a playing the victim.

Well, there is some hope on the Susan Collins front.
[quote]In what is "the longest-running consistently-administered tracking survey in the Northeast," Collins dropped from a 58% approval a year ago, to 51% last fall, to 41% this spring. She also only gets a 46% approval rating among Republicans, and 31% from Democrats. In the words of the polling memo, "Approval of Senator Collins's job performance has declined dramatically since last fall, reaching a new low."

Trump has been "worried" about impeachment for some time. They are putting the word out since Russia and the Republican traitors would like nothing better than the Democrats to push hard on impeachment so they can use it as a political talking point, which in this topsy turvy world sounds crazy, but yes they can rile support for Trump and raise anti Democrat sentiment.

Here's the first part of one of Mueller's parsed sentences.
Barrโs letter... โ[T]he investigation did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities.โ
The Mueller report... (text omitted by Barr in bold) "The investigation also identified numerous links between the Russian government and the Trump campaign. Although the investigation established that the Russian government perceived it would benefit from a Trump presidency and worked to secure that outcome, and that the campaign expected it would benefit electorally from information stolen and released through Russian efforts, the investigation did not establish that members of the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities."

Maine's enthusiasm for Collins seems to have dried up. I wonder if sheโs concerned?
[quote]Maine Sen. Susan Collins, one of the most vulnerable Republican senators in 2020, raised more than $1.1 million in itemized contributions during the first three months of the year. But less than 1 percent of that money came from her home state. Collins raised $9,200 from 17 itemized donations from Maine during the first three months of 2019. Those came from 15 Pine Tree State residents. Thirteen Mainers gave $200 or more this quarter, while two gave less than $200 this quarter but have given more than $200 to Collins in the aggregate.

Republicans are the only party that can be trusted to support the Rich in every situation. Therefore, anything that keeps the Republicans in power is entirely righteous, moral, and true.

by Anonymous | reply 62 | June 1, 2019 3:25 AM |
Reading R60 just drives home for me that this is a crime scene. Every day that goes by evidence is deteriorating.
This is bigger than Trump being an illegitimate president. Bigger than Putin/Russia rigging our election. Bigger than a corrupt and complicit Republican Congress.
This goes back decades and involves multiple countries.
We have to make it a priority to get every interview possible; preserve every shred of evidence because we will be piecing this together for decades - long after many of the players will he dead.
And we should want to.
This isnโt a burden.
This is an opportunity to become America in a way we might not otherwise have been able to do.
And, ironically, we will have Putin to thank for it.

I want to thank Putin with a big grin and my middle finger high in the air, R65.
His plan to break us apart and humiliate us and lose our standing in the world will have backfired.

We will hold our representatives accountable in ways we never assumed we would have to.
And I am absolutely looking forward to it!

R60 here: sorry, wrong link: a question no one's asking: for other legal analysts out there: If the Attorney General objected to Mueller not making a decision on obstruction, didn't he have the power to decline to accept Mueller's report until Mueller made a decision on obstruction? Mueller was his employee.

Look. Trump has a pattern of behavior. He has always had the reflexive habit of getting in his own way and making things worse with everything he has been involved with, all his adult life. Some how someone always bails him out. Right now the Russian oligarchs and Putin are his "Daddy" but now that he has be en exposed, and all his usual remedies from the past aren't working, he will only get more destructive. His new tariffs and his "wars" with China, and Mexico, and declaring emergencies.... are just the beginning. We have to be smart about how we get him out of office, and not allow Nancy to being bullied into acting before she has everything she needs to be e ffective. THis is not the time for symbolic gestures. WE have to focus on his removal. We have to focus on the Senate, and the Republicans in general. The name of the game is exposure.

I have a feeling that while Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Thomas may want Trump to stay forever, Justice Roberts, and even possibly Alito, who is a very odd duck, might side with the Liberals on the Court and see him for the threat he is. And Roberts holds a hammer over Kavanaugh's head, because he investigated him due to judicial complaints. Roberts will not be a patsy for the Extreme Right. He may already know a lot more about Russian involvement than we realize, even though at some point the Court has to be very careful to not put themselves in a bad position. But WTF, they're the Supremes.

Please Democrats if any of you are reading, concentrate on the Senate and keeping the majority in the House. That's where the power is to get Trump out of office in the event he is re-elected and to neuter Mitch McConnell. There are some really great Dems who are campaigning for the Presidential nomination, but I think they would best serve us in the Senate right now.

Losing Harris (CA) or Warren (MA) from the Senate if they were to win the Presidency, would not be problematic as those states will easily replace them with another Dem.

More Barr fuckery, explained by Seth Abramson:
[quote]What you should take from the executive branch of our government openly defying the judicial branch today over Flynn: Flynn's judge knowsโas some of us do from our researchโthat when America hears the full story of what Flynn did, they'll want him in prison for at least a decade.
[quote](2 of 2) That is, the reason the judge issued an unusual order about releasing certain Flynn materials is that he wants America to know the truth. And that's *exactly* why William Barr isn't going to let America see those materials: it'll start off a much larger story being told.
[quote](PS) I'd bet anyone reading this that there has never in the history of the United States been a case where federal prosecutors sought *no jailtime* against a defendant who the judge accused *in open court* of "selling out his country," even using the word "treason" against him.

I was looking through a Wikipedia Page titled "Timeline of Russian interference in the 2016 United States elections" lots of interesting things I had never heard before in this timeline and I have been following this very closely. Things like this:
[quote] House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy and House Speaker Paul Ryan meet separately with Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman at the Capitol. Groysman describes to them how the Kremlin is financing populist politicians in Eastern Europe to damage democratic institutions. McCarthy and Ryan have a private meeting afterwards with GOP leaders that is secretly recorded. Toward the end of their conversation, after laughing at the DNC hacking, McCarthy says, "there's two people, I think, Putin pays: Rohrabacher and Trump...[laughter]...swear to God." Ryan then tells everyone to keep this conversation secret. A transcript of the recording becomes public a year later.
Man is every Republican a traitor to the US?

German chancellor Gerhard Schrรถder (staunch social democrat), after he lost to Angela Merkel in 2005 went straight to Moscow to accept a position on the board of Rosneft and Gasprom. A lot of the politicians in the Hapsburg group are not right wingers but in fact lefties.
I mentioned this earlier on. Putin is one of the richest men in the world, he can bribe left and right to get his way. Hillary was talking about this on Colbert some months ago. How she thinks that all of a suddenly people she knew and had a success working relationship with, people within the GOP, are bought, bribed, blackmailed, extortioned and may be even threatened to do things they know better not to do. She wasn't mentioning Putin, but that was my guess she was alluding to.

The mayor of some South Carolina town with the highest black voting block in the state just endorsed Bill DiBlasio and I immediately thought - he must have Ruskkie bots all over his twitter feed or wherever he gets his news and information. There are several Bernies they can promote this year, not just one, taking attention away from viable candidates who can beat the con man.
I fear most Americans are so dumbed down and unable to think critically and skeptically about the information they receive that they are like sitting ducks for any and all misinformation campaigns both foreign (Putin) and domestic (Barr). Unfortunately there's no vaccine for stupid.

But, unlike Watergate, it's not just the Administration acting criminal. It's also the GOP (Greedy Old Pricks) and the Evil Angels (Franklin Graham, et al) breaking the law. I don't think so. Not that I don't think there is possible dementia and mental decline, but him lying about something even when he knows there is evidence to the contrary is something that is just natural to him, regardless of his mental state.

Operation Crossfire Hurricane is going to be back in the news this month. The real shocker is that the UK government was part and part of the Deep State plot to oust Trump from office. Effectively Theresa May and Her Majesty's government were key players in the coup d'etat, which, coming from a foreign country is tantamount to an act of war.

On another topic, the trolls are so obvious in how they are trying to divide us. I'm sure many of them crow about how it is working on some level. The Impeachment RIGHT NOW it their #1 right now. It is stupid because Nancy isn't going to do, or be pressured to do, something she feels is wrong or the wrong time. She has an iron spine.
What is great is the debate about impeachment due to the RIGHT NOW trolls really keeps his crimes in the news. The more this is being pushed, the more facts come out about exactly why he should be impeached.
I realize some of the RIGHT NOW posters here are not actual Russian trolls but realize you are falling for their tactics. You may have very valid arguments and many people are with you. I think Nancy believes this is healthy if the debate is constructive. Calling Dems weak and her ineffective is not constructive and is what the trolls want. If you believe impeachment needs to start RIGHT NOW by all means lay out your case. That is great for our side. IMO, please refrain from attacking Dems and put your effort into all the reasons this criminal should not be president and should be impeached.
by Anonymous | reply 195 | June 2, 2019 6:37 PM |
I do share a concern that Democrats will just tease impeachment and just hope that they win the 2020 elections. There's no guarantee we will win though. The Democrats were too cautious in 2016 with the handling of the Russian interference and collusion on the part of the Trump campaign. As big of a fan as I am of Obama, he miscalculated. Maybe there was no way he'd win as he was finishing his second term and the public almost always turns against a 2-term President's party.
What we learned is we cannot have that same thinking in the future. We know Trump, McConnell and the rest will spin ANYTHING no matter what. They will spin it if Trump doesn't get impeached, saying Democrats couldn't because "there was nothing there". It will be hard for Democrats to take the case up again if Trump gets reelected and they didn't impeach before. If Democrats do actually pull the trigger and impeach, then yes they will spin that too. So the point is nothing the Democrats do or don't do will be safe from spin. Clinton's impeachment ended up hurting the Democrats after and I don't see why it wouldn't hurt repubs now.
The current problem is only 50 House members are calling for impeachment. That's not enough. I really hope we can get access to Trump's financial records soon as that will surely show Russian links.
The hearings need to get going too. Democrats maybe shouldn't have taken their vacation during this time. Doing so makes this seem less important than it is.
We need to start getting public hearings with Hicks, McGahan and Mueller.

by Anonymous | reply 204 | June 2, 2019 7:32 PM |
Dems, sadly, have to play things carefully because they do not have the huge propaganda machine conservatives have. Also, liberal brains do not work the same as conservative brains. Conservative brains react far more emotionally and crave platitudes. Liberals are, to their disadvantage most of the time, nuanced and react to facts. Despite what we've been told, Liberals do not have a huge propaganda machine. Even if 100% of journalists were Liberal, they work overtime to show they are fair and usually end up always playing the "bothsides" game which always hurts Liberals/Dems.
What they can control is messaging and it is about damn time they get their own talking points and stick to them!

Thank you Datalounge for your points of view. As I think it is important to know where both sides are coming from. Especially, on this so-called National Day of Prayer.
As with most people, we try to strive for The Greater Good. Which according to the First Amendment of the Constitution allows US to do so with Freedom of Religion. So, whether it be by reading the Bible or the Koran, by wearing a yarmulke or rosary beads, by believing with our souls or with our conscience, all of US have the right to pray or not to pray as we choose.
For example, the Bible, Genesis 1:27, says "God created man in HIS own image." Which is what most Christians and Jews in America believe. But, that's not the problem.
As with Donald Trump and his Chumps (the GOP and Evangelicals), they believe that God was created in THEIR own image. That's why it's O.K. to them to hate Gays. That's why it's O.K. to them to ban Muslims. That's why it's O.K. to them to separate Brown families. That's why it's O.K. to them to kill Blacks. That's why it's O.K. to them to abuse Women. Because, in their minds, when they sin it's O.K. As long as they sin to win for their God, themselves. Also known to them as me, myself, and I.
However, all is not lost. As, the Bible, John 8:32, says the truth will set you free. As, long as we always fight for our First Amendment right of Freedom of Speech to get the truth out there. No matter where (Datalounge) it may be.

I've read most of the report over a few days. R213, yes, Vol. 2 contains the essential parts. It is clear some very disgusting wrongdoing occurred. The media has a much softer tone about this than what the written content presents. Few of these anchors and reporters have actually read it, with most showing little knowledge of the details. The ones that have, display more alarm about it. Much of Congress having not read it to date is shameful. They have responsibility to the citizenry to so in timely fashion Barr made almost total contrary conclusions as to what is spelled-out in the report. What a sham! As to Mueller, his verbal summary was consistent, but delivered in a bureaucratic way that was considerably gentler than what he delivered in writing. His press briefing needed a more forceful dimension to it per the threats to come, and the need for immediate action.

r235 We also subsidized all these major sports stadiums. When you think about how much welfare the rich get, it should cause rioting from both the right and left. But the right always directs attention to the "lazy poor" who would rather sit on their ass, get high and get welfare than get a job. Whether that is fair or not, the real money is going to rich fucks who suck up so much welfare in the form of tax breaks, incentives and what not that we all pay for.
And the rich just sit back and laugh their asses off at the poor and middle class who carry their water by arguing they need these things. The rich play cities against cities in a sick game of who they can grift the most from.
by Anonymous | reply 237 | June 2, 2019 11:04 PM |
They don't riot because that would be 'socialism' and that's wrong, R237. It's the system where little kids rat out their parents for giving water to Mexican immigrants crossing the desert or you don't believe you can 'make it' and so you're a loser.
The American Dream is such a con job. There are great stories and the possibilities are there, but at what expense? We have a few billionaires and cities full of the homeless. Clearly something has broken and it's not a sin to say it's capitalism.
by Anonymous | reply 238 | June 2, 2019 11:19 PM |
What broke were the propaganda of conservatives, the con job of tax cuts for the wealthy. Capitalism is just fine but with a lot of regulation and a socialism safety net. It wasn't perfect but it worked for the most part. Yes, it was inconvenient to many companies but it gave us a great middle class with great benefits. We chipped away at that, bought the con job of deregulation and tax cuts, and everyone is shocked the very top have all the money and everyone else is left with scraps. But, of course, they shift the blame to immigrants and welfare queens as if they would even touch the amount of money grifted from the avg worker. Greed went into insane levels.
This all has led us to where we are now- a party corrupt to the core, breath-takingly corrupt. A criminal, slimy, corrupt, joke of a president.

Seth Abramson outlines whatโs known about the massive conspiracy to get Dump elected, reported in the NYT today. He says "The plot was hatched in 2015; the nations involved were Russia, Israel, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, and Egypt." He goes on to say that "On August 3, 2016, agents of Israel, Russia, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia got to Trump Jr. At that August 3 Trump Tower meeting, both the family and campaign were represented: the family via Don Jr., the campaign via Trump's chief domestic policy adviser, Stephen Miller. Four nations offered the Trump campaign illegal pre-election assistance; Don Jr. said yes."
4 investigations were spun off by Mueller:
POST-MUELLER INVESTIGATION #1, per the NYT: "Investigators are still examining the campaign contacts of an Israeli specialist in social media manipulation who has worked for Prince Mohammed [bin Zayed of the UAE]."
2/ POST-MUELLER INVESTIGATION #2, per the NYT: "Investigators are still examining...a Lebanese-American businessman [George Nader] who acted as [a pre-election] emissary [for Mohammed bin Zayed of the UAE, also known as "MBZ"].
3/ POST-MUELLER INVESTIGATION #3, per the NYT: "Prosecutors are investigating whether another top Republican donor whose security company worked for the prince [Elliot Broidy, named RNC deputy finance chair post-election by Trump] should legally have registered as [MBZ's] agent."
4/ (The NEW YORK TIMES has also implied that a *fourth* investigation is ongoingโbut because the reference to it mentions the "special counsel," I've held off on saying that the TIMES is "officially" reporting it as ongoing. In the next tweet I'll summarize its contours, though.)
5/ POST-MUELLER INVESTIGATION #4, per the NYT (see prior tweet for note): "[Prosecutors] also questioned Rashid al-Malik, an Emirati real-estate developer close to MBZ and...the head of Emirati intelligence. Mr. al-Malik is also close to Mr. Trumpโs friend Tom Barrack... (cont.)
6/ ...and investigators are asking whether al-Malik was part of an illegal [UAE] influence scheme, according to two people familiar with the matter."

The Republican goal is to goad the Democratic majority in the House into Impeachment now. There are so-called Liberal/Left people like those who supported Bernie last time, or those who romanticize the Impeachment process and believe "the public will rise up and force the Senate to act!" LOLOL! The Republicans believe that if they manipulate public opinion effectively, (with Russian help) they can divide the Democrats in the House, they can weaken Pelosi, and they can create enough dissatisfaction among voters so that we will throw the "cowardly " Democrats out of office in 2020.
Please remember. This election in 2020 is not only about the President. It is about Gerrymandering. Legislative redistricting happens after the Census every ten years. That would be 2020. We won both Houses of Congress in 2006. We did not step up, show up in 2010 and we lost the House and Senate, and the gerrymandering and voter suppression became the crisis they are now.
The objective must be to remove Trump from office. If we have to remove Barr, McConnell & Graham in the process than so be it. But unless we can get 20 Republican Senators to join the Democrats voting to remove Trump from office, there is no value in an empty gesture, which is what Impeachment without Senate support would be.
If the Senate didn't rise up when Trump declared an emergency to bypass Congress, when he locked kids in cages and failed to re united them with their parents, and a host of other outrageous abuses of power, then they will not do a damned thing now. And the House's public investigative hearings which will lead to a formal Impeachment Inquiry are going on right now even if they aren't being covered by media. They're public, most of them are not are closed door hearings.
We need to focus. We must pressure our states to make sure the elections are secure. Join with groups who are doing that. We have to get good people to run for Legislature in every state. State Houses make important decisions. We need to work to hold the House, flip the Senate, and either defeat Trump, or Impeach him when can we control the whole fucking process.
I'm convinced we can finally be rid of him by June 2021 at the latest. Maybe even sooner than Election Day, 2020. But unless the Senate has the will we're stuck, so we need to protect our advantages and build on them, not bicker and piss away our strengths.

r288 Standing ovation! Bravo! Well said and I completely agree. The census and all of that really is the new SC seat. Almost as important. Also, we are counting on RBG and S Breyer to hang on another 4 years so, really, another SC seat is on the line. Russians are sowing discord over impeachment. Fine, if someone wants it, but do not lose focus if the Dems do not impeach now. If they don't, there is a reason.
Jared, I hate to admit, is kinda hot but he does have that soulless Nazi look. If you look at any Nazi film or photos from Germany in the 30's and 40's, He has a very scary look behind those dead eyes. Hannibal Lecter doesn't even have that evil look.
What is going on with Greenwald and all that nonsense? I don't even pay attention and I don't want to google. I understand if someone doesn't want to give me the cliff notes. The whole carrying water for Russia/Anti-Hillary angle/Bernie never being called out for his Russia support is so odd.
I don't trust this Bannon stuff. At the end of the day, he wants him to succeed. They are working together no matter how harsh Bannon "criticizes".
The Nixon parallels are striking except the GOP had just a slight, very slight, sense of decency then. That is gone now.

Elizabeth Warren is not my top choice in the Dem nomination race. However, she does write out her policy plans, and has gotten some things done in the Senate. She works.
All these decades in the Senate, Bernie has his name on only TWO minor, sponsored bills. He is either lazy or cannot influence enough of his Senate colleagues; or whatever he proposes, most Democrats don't embrace, let alone having any Republicans to concur.
Rhetoric without cost figures and how such will be paid, differs much from exhibiting a track record of expending elbow grease.

The problem or genius of the Republican Party is that they set things up to win either way.
If the House impeaches, their narrative is partisan WITCH HUNT!
If the House doesn't impeach it's "Look at these cowardly bottom feeders!"
And how get they the message accross? With their Republican owned media propaganda machine that needs to be consumed since people need to be informed or else they are *gasp* completely ignorant and clueless about what is going on in the world!
Today's most dangerous weapons aren't guns or bombs. It's the perversion of truth being sold as right wing narrative poisoning people's minds through the news media and social media.

The Right Wing News will not just stop there. They will try to make the Dems' response to Trump's and the GOP's crimes look weak and timid in order for the so called socialist Liberals to lose faith in the Democratic Party as viable and strong opposition to the Republican Party and Trump.
And who is prepped up as savior? Why, Bernie Sanders of course! Putin's other asset.
by Anonymous | reply 295 | June 3, 2019 4:00 PM |
So turn off the noise! The biggest myth is that Trump and the Republicans have these millions and millions of supporters. They don't. The base shrunk. And it's getting smaller as the impact of Trump's chaotic economic policies are felt. The media needs to portray things as equal. They need to act as if the Republican Party is still viable. Otherwise who will spend money on TV ads? The media generates a lot of revenue from its inventions. We ought to be too damned busy to be preoccupied with the pundits, especially on the Right. TO the degree we are aware of their strategy and know what their goals are, we have an advantage, so build on that.
by Anonymous | reply 296 | June 3, 2019 4:13 PM |
R296 is lying., The press and media never show the true size of the crowds who attend Trump rallies because they are GIGANTIC. Trump draws supporting audiences in the tens of thousands all over the nation. No Democrat has that kind of drawing power -- not Biden, not Pete, not Pocahontas.
You need to remove the blinders the media have foisted on you. Trump alone can pull in bigger crowds of supporters than all two dozen Democrats who are running in 2020 put together. Telling yourselves otherwise is setting yourselves up for defeat.

All I wanna do is quote Whitney Houston and say "Show Me The Receipts!" (not some fake ass ratings charts made by the very people who run these right wing business to attract the money). I don't believe the narrative that "Trump and the GOP want Trump to be impeached". Trump would view it as embarrassing. It really all depends on the House Dem's ability to hold televised hearings and tell the story of how criminal Trump is. If they can get his finances this year and start sharing that, that will help too
If the NY AG charges more people connected to Trump this year that will also help

Remember McConnell's "end of thread" declaration? Trump and the GOP no longer want the Mueller report (and its findings) to be in the news since they see it as something that benefits the Dems shaping public opinion. They are so scared of Impeachment investigation and the hearings to be news media fodder up to the 2020 election that they even try reverse psychology. McConnell shutting down any plans of a serious trial in the Senate to convict if the House impeaches? He knows a non-conviction after the public believes the House impeachment investigation and hearings will kill them in the voting polls and make Putin's hacking even more obvious this time.

r297 You are obviously a stupid vodka addled troll from the hellscape that is Russia.
However, you aren't entirely wrong. Hate will always draw a crowd. The media, though, exaggerates his crowds to say they are larger than they are. He also buses them in from all over whatever particular state he is in but he does draw large crowds.
Hate is powerful and a shit show will draw crowds because, if you are inclined to that particular political persuasion, you will more likely show up than, say, a typical (insert any Dem or GOP candidate) stump speech.
Here is where you are wrong and you know it- he is not popular. His approval ratings have never been above 50% which is unprecedented. He is popular only with a every shrinking GOP base. The one thing holding him up is the economy. And even with it being great, thanks to Obama and the Dems, it doesn't get him above 45%. He is deeply hated and unpopular. He has to cheat to win. All conservatives do.

Though I disagree with most of what he espouses, Bannon is largely about his unorthodox, perhaps warped "ideology". Trump is about personal and family "greed", and those of his wealthy cohorts. The manipulation of his base with inflammatory promises, and tossing them bones, is to sustain power. Bannon's ideology has clashed with Trump's greed. Yet, Trump listens to Stephen Miller, particularly on immigration and border policies. Miller is/was a protege of Bannon.
by Anonymous | reply 322 | June 3, 2019 7:07 PM |
R318 exactly. The Democrats having all this information and possibly not impeaching him before the elections next year would be a gift. They want to be able to say the Democrats just teased impeachment but couldn't because "there was nothing there". Repub politicians and party members are STILL going on tv flat out LYING about what the Mueller report says. That is a clear sign that they don't want impeachment or the Mueller report to be further exposed to the public.
While I think Nancy is smart and careful, I really hope she does go through with impeachment in the next 6 months. It's not a good idea to bank on Democrats winning 2020. There's no guarantee.

r325 It is straight from Russian division tactics.
They start with two legitimate arguments but ramp up the emotions so, instead of rational arguments we can agree to disagree, they make the arguments so intense we end up hating each other if we all don't agree. Both arguments have merit. The issue isn't trivial. So it is the perfect issue to divide the Dems on. The media, not just the usual conservative media, play it up because they will always bring into the conversation via some conservative pundit. Then it is, "Witch Hunt vs Weak, Ineffective".
They are also working the, "Socialist Dem solutions vs middle of the road (read corporate Dems)" narrative as well. "Socialist" solutions (in quotes because the word is toxic) are needed to right the inequality wrongs that cannot be fixed any other way vs the "middle of the road" (also in quotes because that is toxic) solutions because going hard to try to right every wrong is probably not politically feasible. Sensibly, some compromise will have to happen because neither way is acceptable in its entirety due to various reasons/obstacles.
I think the solution is keep the debates going but don't lose your shit if your argument doesn't win. We have got to play the long game. I realize some of our issues need addressing immediately but maybe the ones we be the most passionate about won't be addressed first or in the way we want. If we had played the long game, many of these issues would not be a critical mass.

r334 But you bring up the tired and untrue bullshit the Dems didn't do enough in 2016. Candidates always have to make decisions based on internal polls and so many other facts. Unless you worked for Hillary you don't know what they were seeing, hearing on the ground in certain states. And even then, staffers often disagree. She was relying on so many people to give her the best information.
When you, or anyone, freak out over Pelosi or the Dems teasing impeachment you feed the divisive narrative. It is the language you (not you specifically) use that creates the problem. I saw it in 2016 when so much of the language about Hillary was suppressing. I saw posters on FB who hated Pres Bone Spurs turn hard core when he was the nominee. Very few of them didn't. I saw the same suppressing language, attitudes about Gore and Kerry when they were the nominees and I was 15 in the 2000 election. I remember wondering why so many people for him were so blah about him. Every time the other side does this, they lose. Beating up on Pelosi when you have NO IDEA what she is going to do is self-defeating.

Why isn't one of those fluff morning shows talking about how to spot fake social media accounts? Or warning about fake social media accounts and the lies they spread? Because these fuckers are STILL actively attacking us and the media is ignoring it.
Many of these idiotic antivaxxers are known Russian or Chinese misinformation campaigns and yet I have heard nothing from the MSM about this continued attack on Americans.

r337 Hardcore liberal posters could fit the Bernie Bros. I am really getting nervous he is going to not fully endorse the Dem nominee like he didn't with Hillary. Dems need to play like the GOP, the extreme conservative wing gets behind whomever their nominee is because they aren't sufficiently pure enough. Yet, honestly, judges is the ballgame. We won't get anything passed if the GOP keeps the Senate but we will get some judges through.
r338 Absolutely! We were attacked hardcore yet it is treated like it was something on the level of a high school kid hacking into the high school to change his grades. Consequently, many don't see it as the huge issue it is. I've had people tell me this. They say if it were so big, it would be talked about nonstop almost like 9/11. Or the media truly thinks it is the duty of just the elected officials to sort out, not them. They do this about the entire Mueller report. They act like they can't come to a conclusion on anything.

I'm saying, and I know hindsight is 20/20, that the Democrats should have ignored McConnell and just done it. Let them spin it. My point is in this current era Democrats should no longer care what repubs threaten them with. No matter what they do, repubs will spin everything. Democrats can't have the same mindset as 2016. That's all I'm saying

Early last fall, Trump did a political rally (supporting GOP Governor candidate) in W. Columbia, South Carolina at a high school gym. This is a moderately large metro area. I know the gym and it holds around 6,000 max. I later spoke to a couple of people that attended the event. It was less than 3/4 full. There were plenty of empty seats. They also mentioned there were non-local buses that unloaded people. They were political attendees from other areas/communities dawned in MAGA caps with signs/posters that entered in mass through a side door. Those buses did not have young kids or elderly travelers.

remember some of the Trump rally attendees are paid to be there. Some of the people who stand in the first row are the same ones over and over if you look at the various rallies. He likes to create an illusion that everyone loves him. That's bs
by Anonymous | reply 351 | June 3, 2019 11:01 PM |
His rallies are laughable. He always makes sure he has a "Blacks for Dump" sign and others like it. Some people bring their young kids. I always wonder if they are the ones who bemoan our immoral world yet the things he says at his rally aren't PG-13 or lower.
The news just had a segment (NBC) about how the Chinese have so thoroughly scrubbed the 1989 uprising against the govt and how they continue to highly monitor their people for any mention of it. Some American developed a camera that can detect conversations from an unbelievable distance he sold to China. When asked if he had any qualms with what he did, OF COURSE he said no.
Why do the Chinese care to deny history? They fear another uprising and they have the numbers to do it. But to go to great lengths to do so? Is this our future for every country if conservatives get control? I can see the Holocaust being denied again and it is shameful Israel is in bed with so many of these conservative movements who have so much white nationalism behind them. It is surreal. Bebi Nettypot is a demon.

Axios' Johnathan Swan's interview with Jared Kushner, looked so embarrassing for Kushner. It was apparent he is not experienced and competent enough to handle Middle East affairs. He also poorly handled other questions. Jared doesn't show any charm and wit, nor a strong command of international norms and legal and ethical parameters.. Kushner may be fine for focused, domestic technocrat tasks, but he's over his head with complex multinational dealings.

As far as the internal dissension between the "impeach now" and "we can't impeach if we can't get him removed" parts of the Democratic party, I think the solution is to just realize that both of those things can be true simultaneously. Think of it this way, Pelosi and the Congressional Dems are on a pre-planned timetable. The Repugs know this too. That's why they are trying to fuck with it by obstructing. It is being timed out so that the investigation peaks late Spring/Summer of next year. He will be impeached but it won't go to the Senate until close to the election, if ever. Let's see McConnell deal with that in an election year.
by Anonymous | reply 374 | June 4, 2019 4:43 AM |
I remember May โ73 well, when the Watergate hearings were televised. I had just finished my sophomore year in high school. Impeachment was an unpopular option, but popular opinion changed quickly once the glare of the TV lights shone on those testifying about the criminal actions of our president and his henchmen. Itโs amazing how fast the majority can change their minds.
Itโs ludicrous to countenance Trump welcoming what will be a humiliating and dangerous experience for him.

R376, I don't think the Repugs want it dragged out for the sake of dragging it out. It is their only option in the House. They have no power except to obstruct. The piss tape was a fabrication. Ohr didn't care if the info she received from her contacts in Russia was accurate or not. The Steele Dossier was opposition research - in other words, it was mud to fling during a campaign, not facts upon which to base a serious investigation. Trump is the one who is dragging it out. It's his style. He has been in litigation, lawsuits, etc. for 45 years, as it was pointed out by some legal analysts on MSNBC the other night. His constant, go-to strategy is delay. It's what he does. But I'm not so sure the GOP agrees with the Delay tactics. Both the Republicans and the Dems have their own scenarios doped out and they both have a strategy.
I'm not so sure hearings would be effective as they were in the 70's. I was 12 and remember my mother was riveted to the TV. But this White House has blocked people from Testifying, they have withheld documents, they have ignored subpoenas, and now they are even defying court orders. There was a flow and there was some continuity with the Watergate hearings, but here it starts, it stops, there are postponements, delays, etc.
Now things were not that smooth in '73. They had to keep going to court to force the Nixon guys to turn over evidence. This might sound odd, but even though Nixon and his people broke the law, they knew they were breaking laws and actually had respect for the rule of law. Many of them actually feared being charged with a crime or going to prison.
This crowd around Trump act like career criminals and mobsters who do not give a fuck and have no respect for the rule of law. They truly believe they're above the law. You have Trump, Barr, McConnell and Graham and they believe this is all political warfare and games and they do not care about the rules. They're all about tactics. Undermine and weaken Pelosi, divide the Democrats, frustrate the voters, and win back the House. That's the Republican plan.
I think voters are frustrated. I think if they could see some drama, some result, some muscular, robust action from the Democrats they'd quiet down. Impeachment without removal is an empty gesture we cannot afford, and there is absolutely nothing including a nuclear explosion, that will move McConnell. Nothing.
So romanticizing the effectiveness of the hearings is not realistic. And the American public will not rise up, and even if they do, it won't matter to McConnell. The Republicans will effectively use an Impeachment action as a political hit job, and they will strengthen support among the voters. So this is a double edged sword.
My Prescription, is the Democrats have to toughen up: Stop extending deadlines. If you tell Mnuchin you want the tax returns, and he delays and stalls, ignoring subpoenas, etc. DO SOMETHING. If the Dems ask for a report from Barr and he delays and tells them what he will not give them, DO SOMETHING. If McGahn cites Executive Privilege DO SOMETHING.
The problem is the Democrats are like fucking Chamberlain in WW II. They're still negotiating with people they cannot trust. They have to go to war. They have to be muscular. Them the people will really understand, instead, they're giving the impression of weakness, of appeasement, of rolling over. So the style and the tactics have to change. The road leading up to Impeachment ought to be a bit stronger than it is right now, because the Dems are acting like they're not really up to it.
by Anonymous | reply 420 | June 4, 2019 3:39 PM |

As I understand it, R418, Nader was outside of the country, and outside the reach of U.S. process, until he unexpectedly returned, apparently for medical reasons, and was taken into custody at the D.C. airport. If Barr had wanted Nader kept quiet, the better course of action would have been NOT to unseal the indictment, and simply let him leave the country again. Or so I would think.

Rikers is what Trump is facing and he is shitting himself. He will do anything...ANYTHING....to stay out of jail. The Presidency affords him protections.
But on another topic, PLEASE PAY ATTENTION: Trump and the people behind him, are already going after their "enemies." A lot of lawsuits, a lot of bad luck, prosecutions, etc. If he gets re-elected, it will be all out war on anyone he sees as his enemy. And the Republicans are good at that game. So at the state level people are going to be intimidated, investigated, smeared, prosecuted and spied on. It will be the Police State made real. This man cannot stay in the White House. He must be removed because he is a complete threat to our national security and our democracy. This is not some difference in philosophy, this is serious. It will be the corporate police state. So we have to focus on how we remove him from office. We can't afford to give him any advantage.

Hope H. has a track record of sexual affairs with married men with young kids; then there are the physical women abusers among the same. Then the Fox organization gives her a grand job after leaving the WH. The media covered her as if she was the most loyal employee that kept Trump under control and focused. Maybe so in some regards, but much of the scandalous activity happened while she was with Trump.
by Anonymous | reply 451 | June 4, 2019 10:27 PM |
Some scoop from my contacts- The WH and congressional GOPers are threatening a whole host of nasty things they are going to do if the Dems don't stop "going after" Pres Bone Spurs. One thing already done is McConnell not honoring the blue slip for Senators concerning judicial nominees.
They are all weighing really damaging policies that he can do through executive actions. Really damaging shit. She won't give me specifics until I meet up with them in DC late next week. She said this is not deterring the Dems but it is frustrating them because the GOP does not care who they hurt. She said it is getting UGLY (all caps) because there are so many in the GOP who will be caught up in this mess. Like bringing down the party bad but they will do horrible shit for that not to happen. The Dems are working on getting some to flip. They really feel Don M will testify and spill but he is so partisan he wants to protect the GOP, not Pres Bone Spurs. She stressed that the reason so much of this has not collapsed on him yet is because they want the Dems to protect the GOP. Many are ready to take him down. The Dems are a hard no on protecting the GOP and they know the GOP wants the narrative of "Look, the Dems took down our President" which will keep blood off their hands and energize the base against the Dems. She said, strangely enough, no major news outlet wants to touch any of this for now. One is there isn't any real hard evidence, yet. So it would look like the media is going after the GOP. This is why they are going after the media's credibility so hard.
I told you all there was so much going on behind the scenes I just needed her to clear up a few things for me so I could share.
It was a really quick phone call. I hope this makes sense. I'm on vacation and I am partying it up so I've had a few mixed drinks. :)

Oh, and my contact said Nancy and the Dems have a great strategy but they are navigating carefully because, as I highlighted above, they do not want there to be too much collateral damage. But I was proud they are holding firm about NOT protecting the GOP.
This is what Nancy is weighing - bring down Pres Bone Spurs and protect the enabling traitors in the GOP OR take the longer road (the one which the IMPEACH NOW crowd will not like), let all the damaging info keep drip drip dripping out every day, let the momentum build for impeachment inquiry (she said it WILL happen) because public opinion is starting to warm to impeachment, yet this means the GOP will do some terrible things that will hurt many but in the end, more traitors will be purged.

All of that is going on openly for everyone to see. It's all over Twitter. There's nothing "behind the scenes" about this.
These are same revelations as Judd Legum, Seth Abramson, etc., and others Tweet about all day every day.

What I'm not getting is a sense of what the House CAN do to people who just openly defy it and defy the courts, if those people have the Executive Branch on their side. Who exactly arrests those people? Who does anything practical to them? What about fines? Who enforces those fines and starts actually garnishing pay or whatever? Any insights from FCI, or anyone who knows, would be appreciated.

Thank you FCI, R458. I really do like Nancy's strategy. I like that slow drip, drip, drip. An example. I have a major dental appt. next month. It's something I knew I had to do for a while now, but kept putting it off because it troubles me. But, it's been on my mind and has caused me a lot of anxiety on a daily basis. I do know that once I get it over with, I will be relieved. That's what I think it's like for Trump. That anxiety of the anticipation of something horrible you know is going to eventually happen can really drive a person crazy.

I see I can never please the naysayers and I never claim to have earth-shattering news. So, please go back and read what I tell you and acquire some reading comprehension skills. Again, I never say I have scoop no one knows and I never hype it up. I do, mainly, confirm things though I have given huge scoops in the past, though 90% of that was about Aaron Schock. I did say there were pic of LG with a boy who, in some states, would be considered underage just not in the state the pic was taken. That will come out. I didn't know it was common knowledge the GOP would get rid of him (and are trying to make deals) in order to save the party nor did I know they were weaponizing policy to the extent I was told.
To those who appreciate my "scoops', you're welcome. I always try to get info you will find useful either something you knew but needed confirmation or maybe stuff you haven't read ( I don't read the Seth Abramson ). I could always make shit up and with the shit storm going on it would probably turn out truthful 50% of the time.
Can't please everyone I suppose.

Thank you, FCI. Forme the most important thing you said is that the Republicans are going balls out, on a path of total destruction and do not give a fuck about anyone. That's important. Because as despicable as I know they all are I keep hoping that once the hearings begin and the shit gets exposed, some of them will come to their senses. I never expected Graham and McConnell to, but I hoped others might. Of course they talk big, but they are a cowardly lot so I have to wonder how far some of them are willing to go. Because there will be consequences. They have to live in our world every day. And they won't be getting a lot of support out here. WE need the Media to really go for it. Because there can be no "both sides" no "balance" no false equivalencies. If they break the law they have to be held to account this is not about "differing opinions." This is about Right & Wrong, about our Constitution. WE need tough investigative work. We need to rip the covers off sloppy judges who have been compromised like the asshole who just said Congress couldn't sue Trump for taking their money and using it for the wall. His reasoning was so sloppy it begs the question of whether he has ever read the Constitution. He was a Trump donor and a Trump appointed judge. They need to appeal his ruling and go to the wall.

That's why Trump is gambling on Russia's social media propaganda manipulation and hacking voting machines again. Nancy said this and I have also found it to be true. She said most people do not understand what Impeachment is. They believe that if the House impeaches Trump he will be gone. So she is trying to raise awareness and understanding.

by Anonymous | reply 496 | June 5, 2019 2:26 AM |
The next step is the courts. People will be forced to testify. Those 12 redacted Mueller-based cases connected to the Russia investigation are still all on-going. The New York cases are starting with all the discovery and evidence they'll be making public without Trump/Barr interference. The Counter-Intelligence investigation into Trump is still on-going. I don't think the heads of the CIA and FBI are going to go along with Trump's and Barr's wishes that they put themselves in contempt when they are called to testify.
And, all of this will still not lead it his removal due to the overwhelming corruption in the Repug Senate. So, your answer, R495, is that it will probably take the 2020 election to get rid of them.
by Anonymous | reply 497 | June 5, 2019 2:33 AM |
and when they say, fuck you to the courts, what next. what exactly happens here.
by Anonymous | reply 498 | June 5, 2019 2:35 AM |
r493 Congress has three types of contempt charges they can bring. Most of them can get stopped by the Executive branch or DOJ. They can even stop grand juries from being convened and can stop the courts or drag it out due to the Executive or DOJ assert executive privilege. From there, it can be drug out for years. It doesn't have to take that long, though.
Essentially our Constitutional system is being tested and so far, it is failing. We need huge reforms. I'm sure there are some obscure rules they can invoke.

FCi it's not only Trump lying about things that are easily false by watching the news lol. I saw a clip on Fox today of that stupid "The Five" show and they were ganging up on Juan Williams again. It was about the protests. The other 4 were acting like it was just a small group of protesters "of many different causes not all about Trump". They were also saying that the royals loved meeting the Trumps and that he's on his best behavior
never mind the toilet Trump doll, the 10s of thousands of protesters (who have multiple causes because Trump offends many different groups of people) and the fact that Meghan Markle (and others) declined meeting Trump for the dinners and of course the spat with the London mayor
so they keep covering for Trump's lies

And it looks like Barr already wants to make deals. It won't be easy but the Dems have a lot of dirt to drip drip drip every day to make the GOP lives miserable.
Despite our system failing, our people won't. Whether you know it or not, the Dem reps and their staffers are winning this. They just don't have the conservative loud mouth media machine behind them.
by Anonymous | reply 504 | June 5, 2019 2:48 AM |
There's a podcast called "What Trump Can Teach Us About Constitutional Law" that I highly recommend. The most recent episode covered Congressional Contempt. They explain that there are three types of contempt Congress can charge:
1. Criminal Contempt - Congress can refer the contempt charge to the DOJ to prosecute. That's unlikely to occur, especially with this DOJ.
2. Civil Contempt - Congress can ask the courts to enforce its subpoenas and compel people to testify and/or produce documents. This can be a long, drawn-out process
3. Inherent Contempt - Congress can jail or fine someone they hold in contempt. That hasn't been done in over 80 years because Congress doesn't have the facilities and personnel to effectively arrest someone.

r505 Civil contempt- The Senate can authorize a lawsuit but there is not a similar statute that applies to the House. However, federal district court in Washington, D.C. has decided that the House can authorize its committees to bring a civil suit for enforcement of a subpoena.
It can still be blocked by the Executive branch and DOJ, I believe.

Which is why the fucking Senate is so important. Because many years ago I worked for a U.S. Congressman, I can support FCI's assertion that there's a whole lot going on behind the scenes. In both Houses. The fact that the Democrats have only been in power for 4 months, including a 30 day shutdown seems to escape a lot of members of the public. I think we need to push the media and individual reporters to start focusing on the Senate. After reading what FCI's just posted you can really appreciate how important the Senate is in this whole mess. This is really about the Constitution and the laws that flow from it. But it is also about the Rules that each house of Congress makes. The House needs the sharpest lawyers they can find to staff this effort. Remember the words of the immortal General Hannibal when he invaded Italy: "I will find a way, or I will make one."

You can also write letters or send postcards. I send postcards to turtle telling him he's a traitor. Fuck him. That's how I vent my frustrations.

since McConnell won't cooperate, why don't Democrats go after him HARD? Go after the corruption with his wife Elaine and the corruption with the Russians investing in Kentucky. Remind the public of all the lies he's told and the hypocrisy. Hit him hard. Repubs successfully used Pelosi in their attack ads during the Obama years. Why don't Democrats do the same to McConnell since he actually deserves it? He's actually lucky Trump takes up so much attention. A lot of casual voters don't even know who he is. They should.
Democrats have got to get on top of out-messaging and out-attacking repubs. Don't let them keep setting the narratives

Which is why the Russians kept the Senate red during the 2018 blue wave. That weird shit where tons of Floridians voted to let felons vote (progressive) but voted for the Repugs for Governor and Senate. Uh huh. That disenfranchisement of the of the Native American population in North Dakota was done to help cover the fraudulent vote. And, Hawley? No fucking way.

FL was an egregious show of force of a hacked election. No way we lost Gov and Sen. No way. No way in hell. GA was another. Abrams KNOWS votes were changed. McCaskill won, as well. Donnelly won, too. Heidi did not. I'm not sure if the NA suppression would have been enough.
Also, Beto won. Voters in TX reported numerous times all over the state how all the end of the ballot, their Senate votes switched but not the others.
FUCKERY

There used to be a post that would be posted in every thread after the 2016 election about proof of voter tampering. Where is it?

Democratic Pundits on Cable News keep warning that "everybody" (meaning Republicans) should be concerned and do everything they can do fix our election issues because the Russians tilt it to the other side next time. Right! I think Putin never dreamed our GOP would be as cooperative with him as they've been. He's staying put for awhile. Duh!
On the other hand, China - are u reading this? (with help from Bill Maher and Hillary).

[quote]Don't let them keep setting the narratives
Yep, that's the key. Why that isn't happening or is not enough happening is probably because the media is bought. Not just the typical right wing media, the NYT, NBC, some lefties media outlets all were rallying against Hillary Clinton in 2016.
Putin has a lot of money to bribe some journos, so have some shady middle eastern dictators.
by Anonymous | reply 536 | June 5, 2019 5:10 AM |
Seriously... China are you hearing this. Write in ballots overwhelmingly put Hillary into office in 2020!
by Anonymous | reply 537 | June 5, 2019 5:14 AM |
Funny, one way Hillary probably could finally take office - promise Deplorables that once she becomes President she can finally be arrested!
by Anonymous | reply 538 | June 5, 2019 5:15 AM |
Uh why would he be concerned that Tiffany would join the Peace Corps or the Army?

[quote]If Put Put's goal is to disrupt the system, then he'd be wise to switch votes for a Dem candidate in 2020
Putin doesn't want a democratic president who will try his/her best to strengthen NATO, EU, and overturn citizen united. Once a democrat sits in the WH, the mobsters have to hush up and leave the country.

[quote]More than anything, the prenup shows how fiercely Trump wanted to protect the money he did have. Maples reportedly wanted $25 million, but Trump agreed to pay her only $1 million if they separated within five years, plus another $1 million to buy a house. Trump also would stop making $100,000 child support payments for Tiffany when she turned 21. The agreement states that Trumpโs payments would cease earlier if Tiffany got a full-time job, enlisted in the military, or joined the Peace Corps. โThe way it was drawn up is ironclad and shows how wary he was,โ Felder told me after reviewing the prenup. โHe was leaving nothing to chance.โ

Don't be so sure about that. Depends on how one defines, "democratic."

Im noticing a bunch of morons on my FB feed talking about how Obama is about to be arrested. Must be the new Russian talking point.
by Anonymous | reply 549 | June 5, 2019 5:51 AM |
Bernie is completely losing momentum isn't he?
by Anonymous | reply 550 | June 5, 2019 5:51 AM |
He's still right Biden, but I believe his numbers have dipped a little.
by Anonymous | reply 551 | June 5, 2019 5:52 AM |
So basically old white guys are still who people prefer.
by Anonymous | reply 552 | June 5, 2019 5:53 AM |
R549 it's always their talking point. At least between the hours of 4a-9a.

How many times has Hope Hicks blown Dotard?
And how many times has she eaten out Ivanka?
by Anonymous | reply 554 | June 5, 2019 5:56 AM |
But Biden is only an old white guy because he isn't extreme left like Bernie. It is amazing how race and age are not a factor if your name is not Bernie.
I'd support Bernie if he is our nominee but he won't be.
by Anonymous | reply 555 | June 5, 2019 5:56 AM |
^^^ I meant is Bernie
by Anonymous | reply 556 | June 5, 2019 5:57 AM |
I find it intersting that some people make a big deal about Biden lying when he doesn't come even close to Trump's gazillion lies. Someone should throw it in their stupid faces that Trump set a new standard not just for Republicans but for Dems as well.
by Anonymous | reply 557 | June 5, 2019 6:02 AM |
Republicans dont care. Their whataboutisms are mindblowing.
by Anonymous | reply 558 | June 5, 2019 6:35 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 560 | June 5, 2019 6:36 AM |
Also, wanted to say that back in 2016, I knew the election was going to be rigged the minute they started asking Hillary if she would accept the results as is.
I knew it was a trap and I knew it was going to bite everyone in the ass when she said she would.
by Anonymous | reply 561 | June 5, 2019 6:38 AM |
^I felt the same way. When that was brought up about accepting the results I got a sick feeling.
And the thing was that there was no answer but the one she gave. Anything else would have been used against her.
by Anonymous | reply 562 | June 5, 2019 6:40 AM |
Does Comey still feel mildly sick?
by Anonymous | reply 563 | June 5, 2019 6:41 AM |
I dont agree that it was the only answer she could give.
Didn't Drumpf respond, "we'll see," when asked the same thing?
by Anonymous | reply 564 | June 5, 2019 6:41 AM |
Comey is still a piece of shit who will never take responsibility for anything he did.
by Anonymous | reply 565 | June 5, 2019 6:41 AM |
Completely different. As we've seen, Dotard can get away with doing anything. He was right about that.
No one is scrutinized more or has everything twisted and held against them as HRC did.
by Anonymous | reply 566 | June 5, 2019 6:42 AM |
I will say that I do believe if it had been anyone else Drumpf was stalking on stage people would have taken issue with it.
But because it was Hillary, no one cared.
